Job summary

Assignment Description and Requirements

Our client, a cutting-edge technology company at the forefront of advanced physics and high-performance material applications, is initiating a development project focused on thin-film deposition and micro-scale patterning.

The assignment centers around applying thin metallic films onto semiconductor and diamond-based substrates, followed by structuring these layers through lithographic processes to create micrometer-scale patterns. While these methods are well established within the semiconductor industry, the specific application is highly specialized and pushes the boundaries of current technology.

The consultant will play a key role in exploring technical solutions and establishing the right ecosystem of partners. This includes identifying and engaging with laboratories, research facilities, and niche suppliers, potentially both in Sweden and internationally, to source suitable substrates and validate process approaches. The assignment also involves conducting literature reviews and technical investigations to ensure optimal performance, particularly from a thermal perspective.

Profile

We are looking for a self-driven and pragmatic expert who can quickly get up to speed and contribute from day one. You are comfortable operating in an exploratory environment where not all answers are readily available, and you enjoy building networks and finding solutions.

A PhD within semiconductor processing, materials science, or a related field is highly meritorious. Experience from academic microfabrication environments (e.g., cleanrooms or national lab infrastructures) is a strong plus. Equally, extensive industry experience from semiconductor or MEMS companies will be highly valued.

You bring curiosity, structure, and a proactive mindset—and you are not afraid to pick up the phone, reach out to experts, and make things happen.
